Pope Francis strongly condemned clerical sex abuse in his annual Christmas speech to the Roman Curia Friday, promising that the Church leadership will never again cover-up abuse or treat such cases lightly.
Let it be clear that before these abominations the Church will spare no effort to do all that is necessary to bring to justice whosoever has committed such crimes. The Church will never seek to hush up or not take seriously any case, Pope Francis said in Vaticans Citys Apostolic Palace on December 21.
It is undeniable that some in the past, out of irresponsibility, disbelief, lack of training, inexperience, or spiritual and human short-sightedness, treated many cases without the seriousness and promptness that was due. He could start by getting rid of the many high-level abusers with whom he has surrounded himself. Hypocrite.
And afterward it is the church’s responibility to bust them out of the priesthood forever!
So how about bringing mccarrick to justice?
Send em off to the slammer and Ill start to respect the Pope.
Telling the Curia of Queers to clean up their act...Really?
Well he said...
hand yourself over to human justice
The question becomes, does he mean it?
27Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead mens bones and all uncleanness. 28So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness."
Let it be clear that before these abominations the Church will spare no effort to do all that is necessary to bring to justice whosoever has committed such crimes. The Church will never seek to hush up or not take seriously any case. Wink, wink.
Yes. I checked the Vatican site and found the speech. I have not read the whole thing yet to see if there is more to it, but the parts quoted in the OP are there:
