Went to Advent service last Sunday. Hymns were humdrum. I asked the couple next to me if the Church was sure we were in the Christmas season. They were not sure either.

If they aren’t about Christ, they aren’t about Christmas

Christmas itself isn't about Christ to most people. It is, for the most part, a secular holiday now.

Next you'll be telling me "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" isn't an Easter song....

Christmas is, and always will be about Christ.
The other stuff is just about shopping, consumerism and snowmen. Fun for nonbelievers.

Times change. While there certainly remains a significant portion of the population to whom Christmas is primarily of religious significance, it's much less than in the past...especially in Europe. I don't anticipate the trend reversing.

Well, speaking as one myself, I certainly enjoy the secular aspects of the holiday season.

I actually have - and since your statement is categorical, it is also false.

Christ Mass: Whether you like it or not, there are some who defy your assertion.

It’s a long topic, but if one wanted to, you could look at the origins. Catholic church also has nothing to with Christianity, so there’s that too.

Some of us know what Christmas is and still honor it.

Anything that takes away from the true meaning does not honor it.
