BRUSSELS, December 12, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) Poland and Hungary blocked the inclusion of LGBTIQ rights in a common European Union statement.
Last week representatives from Poland and Hungary annoyed other European Union (EU) member states by vetoing the inclusion of the LGBTIQ acronym in a joint statement by employment and social affairs ministers meant to promote gender equity in the digital era.
LGBTIQ is a reference to people who derive their identity from lesbianism, homosexuality, bisexuality, transgenderism, intersexuality, or an experimental questioning approach to sexuality.
The European employment and social affairs ministers collectively form the EU Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council (EPSCO), which meets four times a year. Its most recent meeting was held in Brussels on December 6. Brussels is the capital of the European Union.
The official EPSCO Council Conclusions now refer only to gender equality, youth and digitalization. To appease the other member states, who were reportedly furious with Polands and Hungarys veto, Austria added a reference to LGBTIQ to the document in its current capacity as holder of the Presidency of the European Council. However, this addition is classified as only presidential conclusions, which do not have the legal significance of formal Council conclusions.
One of the ministers complained vociferously about the actions of the Hungarian and Polish members.
According to Politico, Wouter Koolmees, the Dutch minister for social affairs and employment, called LGBTIQ rights core values of the European Union.
LGBTIQ inclusion and equality are core values of our European Union, he said. This is where I draw the line. We will never compromise our principles. This is not up for discussion and should have never been an issue for any member state. So I am happy that the reference is back in the text. Although I do regret we were......

10 years ago LGBT was a fringe crazy group, laughed at by most. Now they are mainstream in American schools, Universities, corporations and even many Churches!
Equality means NO SPECIAL RIGHTS for anyone!
Amen!
How queer, a generation ago homofascists insisted that there was no homosexual agenda.
“If they get US support that would be nice.”
As long as they don’t take it too seriously.
As others around the world have learned, US support is HIGHLY dependent on who’s in the White House. Russia, probably not - they’ll still be about the same even after Putin.
Good, because they don’t mean “rights,” they mean “special privileges” such as the ability to have normal people thrown in jail for using the “wrong” pronoun.
Why would it? The EU is all about top-down imposition of Marxism. Let them get their own unified military, and guess what happens.
much simpler to just put “anti-Heterosexual” as the name.
“...intersexuality?”
Looks like Poland and Hungary might survive the Final Fall of Europe.
The EU is a soft tyranny that thinks it can do it better than their oppressors of the past: Nazi Germany and Soviet Union.
isn’t legislation written into our new NAFTA deal that gives special rights to LGBTIQ?
I recently delivered a gift to somebody at a Christian church and was looking at their website - on the “About Us” page it mentions LGBTQ not once but THREE times. I’m surprised they’re not flying the rainbow flag like the Unitarian church does.
This is from 2015 and so appropriate to the discussion here. The King quote is from MLK Jr.’s daughter... Does our country survive? I don’t think so.

Excerpted:
“”Any connection between the legalization of abortions — 55 million in the USA since Roe — and the shrinkage of a population?
“God will have the final word in this matter,” says King.
Certainly, in the world to come, He will. Yet, even in this world, it is hard to recall a civilization that rejected its God, repudiated the faith and morality by which it grew great, embraced what was previously regarded as decadence, and survived.””
In an article I read on Free Republic yesterday, the acronym was LGBTQI, not LGBTIQ! Non-heterosexuals, what’s it going to be?
Cut 'em some slack, they're making this **** up as they go.
Hmmm. I thought “Q” (in that context) stood for “queer”.
Always interesting that the countries who suffered under communism understand the real world.
