The way it's been translated:

Matthew 9:20-22   (ESV)

And behold, a woman who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment,
for she said to herself, “If I only touch his garment, I will be made well.”
Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.”
And instantly the woman was made well.

The way it is practiced indicates that it was a poor translation. it SHOULD read:

Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Have you talked to my mom about this?  She's good at these sort of things."

But, but, but.... children call their fathers *Dad*.

That means we can call our priests *Father*, too.

Roman Catholic logic is, well, interesting.

  1. Did you do that, or are you relying on your own personal interpretation of scripture? No, different experience than you; no, too many examples of those who trust in themselves, do not agree with each other, and are wrong
  2. And another thing, would I be correct in assuming you have no assurance of salvation? No, the LORD said if one does this he shall live.
  3. One is not saved by believing one is saved (faith that saves is not believing one is saved). Neither is salvation of the Samaritans.

Now, I think I will go read the Book of James, and the book of Jude.

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

...

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

...

Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Well; Jesus is claimed to have said THIS:

"This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent"

When asked THIS:

“What must we do to do the works God requires?”     John 6:28

Randomly generating scripture again, bro? I already told you, I disagree with about 90% of your interpretations, that you didn’t get from a priest. That is ok, however. I don’t need a priest to interpret scripture, and neither do you. I am wondering, however, where do you get, what in my opinion, is such strange interpretations? How can you read the exact same sentence that I do, and come away with a thought that is completely different? 🤔 I have my own opinion, but I will keep it to myself. 😁

Ah, the usual talking points verses.

Now, are you going to engage in conversation about what you just said, or are you going to post and run?

In the past you’ve been known to post and run, especially when challenged. So I’m not gonna waste my time unless I know you’re actually going to engage.

Out of curiosity, do you agree that Ezekiel 44:2 says that the Virgin Mary will remain a virgin?

Out of curiosity, do you agree that Ezekiel 44:2 says that the Virgin Mary will remain a virgin?

No, the passage does not say that the Virgin Mary will remain a virgin; the passage is a vision that says that gate of the outward sanctuary which looks toward the east shall be shut and remain shut; no man shall enter in by it because the LORD, the God of Israel, has already entered in by it.

There are at least seven references to the gate in Ezekiel. The prophecy is a vision, and so somewhat of a mystery. It has been interpreted as a shadow or symbol of the truth to come, and that Mary remained a virgin after giving birth to the Messiah. I have no problem with that sublime interpretation of the passage, as it seems to fit. Mary did bring Jesus into the world, and then to the Temple in Jerusalem.

Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east: And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face. And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east. So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house. And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the man stood by me. And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.

...

Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut. Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut. It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the LORD; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same. Then brought he me the way of the north gate before the house: and I looked, and, behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord: and I fell upon my face.

...

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons. And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him. And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Let's see... Ezekiel 44:2

Ezekiel 44:1-3

1 The man then brought me back to outer gate of the sanctuary that faced east, but it was shut. 2 And the LORD said to me, “This gate is to remain shut. It shall not be opened, and no man shall enter through it, because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it. Therefore it will remain shut. 3 Only the prince himself may sit inside the gateway to eat in the presence of the LORD. He must enter by way of the portico of the gateway and go out the same way.”

Well; if you want to imply the Jesus and Mary got it on somehow...

Luke 11:27

As Jesus was saying these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

Then complain to the moderator and have it taken down.

Except it hasn’t been taken down, so I must be fine.

So answer the question; are you going to engage or just leave your implied claim that James contradicts both Jesus and Paul standing there?

LOL

One is still allowed to use personal pronouns.

An analysis of pronoun usage for various posts does tend to paint a picture, so to speak.

So answer the question; are you going to engage or just leave your implied claim that James contradicts both Jesus and Paul standing there?

James does not contradict either Jesus or Paul. Rather the unlearned and unstable do not properly understand Paul's writings, ignore the many warnings of the Messiah and other apostles, and teach others likewise, to their detriment, and even destruction.

The Messiah's many parables are about works of faith and love, and his final words to the (genuine) churches are about works, works, works.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Not really; just saw your question buried in the other comment; thus the assertion of evasion was categorically false.
