Lord, we are weary.

Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

Great God, Lord of all Creation,
kind Father beyond our imagining,
hear our prayer.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, although we as a nation do no deserve Your mercy for our lawlessness, the crime of abortion, and the legalization of moral transgression, we who believe are humbled by Your grace and forgiveness to those who repent and keep faith in You. We offer these petitions for our dear country, fast becoming unrecognizable.

Father of us all, Who made all people in Your image, we cry with the families of the deceased in the two recent mass killings, the Ohio synagogue and the California country music club. We feel horror at the deaths of people and animals, and the loss of property of the working people in the western wildfires. And we mourn the loss of public virtue exemplified by ongoing malfeasance around the recent elections and the vows of catastrophic disruption by the incoming House leadership. The Brexit of our oldest ally is in danger of collapse, and Europe behaves like a surly teenager towards our President, having wrecked their continent as if it were the family car which imaginary parents would replace. We see our President looking fatigued.

It’s hard to remain hopeful and thankful; yet Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Is. 55:9) As You did for Joseph, Lord, You can use what unbelievers intend for evil to bring about Your good. So we do offer our saddened hearts up to You again today, for the refreshment of our spirits. Use us to pray without ceasing for our nation, that America will return to You and renew her Christ-honoring values. May the People once again take power and realize their freedom and their obligation to bear witness to Truth.

Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received from the Lord's hand double for all her sins. A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

We pray for clear, unrevisionist scriptural and civics education to spread like wildfire across our country, dear Lord, burning away the lies of satan and offering the needful opportunity to rebuild individual lives, consciences and spirits on the True Word. We pray that the decisions of the many judicial appointments made by our President will start to turn the tide of shared opinion towards the Eternal Truth. We pray that the consciences of the incoming elected officials will be enlivened by the Holy Spirit and humbled to the task of representing the People, not the party. We pray for justice for those devastated and wounded and for the families of the dead due to criminal acts. And we thank You for all that our President has already done to restore our economy, our military, and our sense of hope for the future of Constitutional republican governance.

If it be Your will, we pray for the construction of the southern border wall to be funded and completed quickly, and for citizenship once again to be a precious, respected and well-defined entity. And we pray for strength and revitalization of our President, Vice President and all who surround them committed to MAGA.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

We thank You, Lord, for the families and friends with whom we will gather over the coming holidays. Give us truly thankful hearts and the patience and wisdom to deal charitably with our loved ones and with others in our communities who are lonely, needy or hungry. Make us a channel of Your peace.
