The bishops of Americas 196 Catholic dioceses and archdioceses gathered in Baltimore on Monday morning, meeting for the first time since sexual abuse scandals rocked the church in the summer. They planned to vote on measures to tackle the crisis and prevent further crimes.
In the opening minutes of their meeting, the bishops heard a surprising report: Pope Francis had asked them not to vote on any of their proposals.
The pope does not want U.S. bishops to act to address bishops' accountability on sexual abuse until he leads a worldwide meeting in February of church leaders, the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, told the gathered bishops as the meeting opened Monday morning.
At the insistence of the Holy See, we will not be voting on the two action items, DiNardo said. He said he was disappointed by the popes directive.
Anne Barrett Doyle, co-director of BishopAccountability.org, called the last-minute order from the Vatican truly incredible.

Since the hierarchy are unwilling to start flipping tables (cf Mt 21.12-13; Jn 2.14-17)...(I'll leave the rest to your imagination)
What? Stop homosexual abuse of teen boys? That’s a revered Catholic tradition!
Too bad the Bishops likely won’t say—actually, given all that you have said on Synods and local governance, you seem to be contradicting yourself.
The pope is not Catholic. He is a marxist first and foremost. He is unfit to be pope.

I am not familiar with markomalley’s former opinions on the subject matter. But I understand his sentiments here. I also am a practicing Catholic. Catholicism is the vehicle of my my faith. I practice believe and practice the tenants of the faith. But I too have some VERY strong opinions and objections regarding the leadership and management of the institution. Frankly, I also disagree with some of the practice and interpretation of teachings regarding some aspects of doctrine (like Social Justice Doctrine).
I also support the “turning over of tables,” so to speak. The church can follow the teachings of Christ by offering forgiveness to repentant abusers in the church. But when reported, and evidence presented outside of a confessional, the church should also turn the offenders over to authorities, and cooperate fully, for the State to prosecute. The church should be saving souls and protecting the innocent. We should get out of the business of saving lives, beyond good personal works for our own righteousness and relationship with Christ.
Pray for the Bishops.
"Disappointed" maybe, but surprised?? No, I don't think so.
This is the scoundrel who simply blew off Vigano's accusations.
You may have some hope of effective Federal legal action being taken. Right now the U. S. Attorneys in Philadelphia, PA and Buffalo, NY have opened serious, large scale investigations of the Church’s activities around the country. See:

Tell that lowlife scumbag marxist thug FU and vote on those proposals anyway.
Ping
Bergoglio is to the Catholic Church as Obama is to the United States.
