The article includes Pat Robertson as a prosperity doctrine adherent. I never saw him that way (though I never really listened to him preach). Wondering what others think.

“Rev. Ike is known for his somewhat controversial slogan You cant lose with the stuff I use!”
“Enjoy Money. Money loves to be enjoyed. The enjoyment of money also increases it. The enjoyment of all of your good, increases your good. But also remember that these things are to serve you, you are not to serve these good things.”
” I am the master of money, I tell money what to do. I call money and money has to come. Money must obey me. I am not the servant of money. Money is my loving obedient servant.”

I personally fought against this cancer in my AoG church up in Jersey in late 70’s and 80’s. Ruined friendships.
I’m surprised it mentioned Pat Robertson. Can someone cite me actual things he’s said that are ‘Prosperity Gospel’ and not just speaking of God’s promises and blessings?

Globally 98% of evangelical leaders agree that the Bible is the word of God. Only 3% believe that human life has evolved with no involvement from a supreme being, and 90% reject the so-called prosperity gospel, the notion that God will grant wealth and good health to those who have enough faith. 52% (75% in the Global South) believe drinking alcohol is incompatible with being a good evangelical, 97% likewise reject astrology, 96% reject reincarnation, 95% reject denying Jesus is the only way to salvation, 92% reject yoga. http://www.pewforum.org/2011/06/22/global-survey-of-evangelical-protestant-leaders/

Last week U.S. Postal Service inspectors and IRS criminal investigators raided the offices of Benny Hinn, ..."Last week," in context, was April of 2017, in case anyone other than myself was unaware of this event's occuring "last week" in real time.

A few thoughts:
1) Mat 6:21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
2) Even if Jesus/God’s name is used wrongly, God can use it for his purposes.

I like my preachers like the original model, poor and humble and know the Bible.
One of my very few best friends has worked himself into the ground, quite literally building his church from the ground up with his own hands and very little help.

Well it does look like an IRS investigation. They move quietly and slowly.

There’s one article from 2018, remarks Rev. Hinn made after the death of Rev. Billy Graham, but it doesn’t say anything about the IRS investigation.

Why do the several “name it & claim it” tee vee crooks I’ve stumbled across while channel surfing, look like they are headed to a circa 80’s gay bar? They spend some serious money on wigs & make up..............

I’ve always thought it was unfair for Oral Roberts University to have a Division 1 basketball team. How many other teams can use a faith healer to get their players back to full strength during a long season?
