Elsie:
Orthodoxy vs. Catholicism is a discussion for another day. Ilya, who made the Kremlin-critical comment I was referring to, IS a practicing Russian Orthodox believer. I don’t want to sound snarky, but if you had any remedial understanding of Russia and its history (both recent and long term) or experience living there — you would know that he was well within his rights to voice immense displeasure about the brutally tragic consequences (and lingering ramifications) resulting from the centuries old unholy alliance between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian State.
I am wearing thin of the Putin-olatry so called conservatives in America (on Free Republic) got swallowed up in during the Obama era. It’s turned people into the most ignorant zombies about the realities of post-Soviet Russia and its role in the world. Putin is NOT a Christian and his government is NOT truly divorced from the bloody and dark century which preceded it.
ASSAD is no savior of Syria, among other facts... And acknowledging the falsities of Russian propaganda does not let bad U.S. decisions off the hook. But seriously, many of you need a reality check. Not so much as Americans, but as Christians. No serious follower of Jesus Christ would defend the Kremlin, but pray instead for the LORD to show mercy and bring a truly new day to Russia and the entire surrounding region.
I don't.
While CHOICE; in THIS country; will kill about 3,300 future American citizens today.
