The Russians are preparing to harvest the spoils from their billions of dollars of investment in Syria. Israeli electronic warfare and American surveillance and might are in their way, although their equipment is also antiquated. They have told the Iranians to leave, and although they had been mainly in the north have now been seen approaching the eastern part of Syria and the Euphrates River, where the oil wealth is.
Also some news about political changes in Iran, which seems to be heading for a harder line in its government and will certainly join Russia if warfare does break out.
Let their kids die for that Middle Eastern sh!thole. Old Vlad needs a war to take the Russkies minds off their failing society.
Important update from Amir. The S-300s in Syria are still not operational but Russia seems to be making some interesting moves.
twill be some weeks yet before the regiments are connected and operational - the connection to the Russian Nuclear C3 Command and Control systems in Russia will take longer still to be fully operational.
Not our business. Syria is a sovereign nation and we are there against all international law, an invasion force. We had a moral obligation to defeat ISIS, which in a great part was caused by our global-bully foreign policy.
I try to look at it only from a Biblical perspective. I am glad we are Israel’s ally, but it’s hard to tell from scripture if we will be actively involved in the war that will take place and if we are, to what degree.

Kurds do not want to be cannon fodder for Iran collonists, nor arabs , nor Alawites.
Syria is a colonial district of European powers passed on to the communists , another fiction.
If we were defending the Kurds and Alawites in Iraq and Turkey, I’m okay with that. But let Assad lead Syria. He’s always protected minorities in Syria. If Assad were concerned about Iran being in that district, wouldn’t he ask them to leave? It’s not our business, or Israel’s either.
I shake my head regarding people who think they can sit out the Bible prophecies.

The U.S. has forces there now and is increasing them to protect the Kurds, who are on our side, but also to keep Iran from grabbing the oil facilities on the east side of the Euphrates. Russia has been OK with that, because they don’t want Iran to have the oil either (there’s a lot of it, potentially). Russia really needs the oil itself, as its economy is faltering and can’t withstand the loss of a valuable market.
The same reasoning holds for the newly discovered gas and oil in Israel and Greece. Merkel has already been to Israel discussing where to buy fuel if not from Russia.
Everyone is doing what is necessary for their own people. Result: war.

S-300PMU-2 is outdated but will be manned by Iranians who already run the same variant in Iran.
Are 3 battalions each with 3 launchers and 100 missiles per launcher - 300 missiles in all. Systems underwent major overhauls in Russia’s arms factories so are like new.
No Russians will be on site.

Obviously, Amir doesn’t think the S-300s in Syria are all that great, but maybe it’s a difference without a difference as far as the current situation is concerned.
The Israelis play things close to the vest (except for when they want something known for a specific purpose), so it’s hard to know the details, but he has mentioned superior Israeli electronic warfare.

Whether or not the Israelis can defeat the Russian 2nd string is an open question as yet.
Russia has been taking over Libya, and Turkey has been taking over Sudan. These two countries are, of course, mentioned in Ezekiel. Amir explains why today's Ethiopia is not involved but it is Sudan instead.
