Can a Pope Be Removed from Office?
Canon Law Made Easy ^ | January 31, 2013 | canonlawmadeeasy

Q: In a recent piece you explained the Pope can resign if he chooses. To me that raises another question: What would happen if a Pope became so mentally debilitated that he didn't know what he was doing?

ealgeone:

I assume your question was about the Voluntary Resignations, not the ones were a Pope was forcibly deposed by secular powers.

Yes. Only those within Roman Catholicism.

Outside powers probably don't care about RC Canon Law.

You ignore our pain and try and sow dissent and salt in the wounds of the faithful. If I am wrong and you are not trying, understand your nasty bigotry in the past clings to you so just stop. You want to show good faith and solidarity with us, pray silently.

When you ask the same of your fellow Roman Catholics who post thread after thread after thread and post after post after post bemoaning your pope we can talk.

Until then....sit down.

All I'm doing is asking if what Roman Catholics want done can be done legally per Roman Catholic Canon law.

They are Catholic -your long history of bigotry makes your posts vile, the stench of the past reeks. Be silent or revel in your nasty hatred, but do not think we cannot see through you.

OR, and from the evidence of centuries culminating in the current exposure, or the Catholiciism is as Paul perceived ‘another religion’, thus The God is not directing that ORG as a representative of HIS GRACE.

Your history of nasty comments is well attested to as is your crying to the mods.

You continue to confirm, and epitomize, my observation as previously noted.

Now, sit down.

So who determines that?

Who has the authority to determine that?

Well, YOU guys certainly aren’t telling us what you believe.

That, then, leaves the option of going to Catholic sources.

So instead of just throwing out “YOU’RE WRONG!!!!! You hater/heretic.”
how about telling us just what IS wrong with the article ealgeone posted and then telling us what is correct?

The Pope is immune as a sovereign head of state, Vatican City, and even if he weren’t, he’s not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. He doesn’t have domicile here, he’s not a citizen, he’s not present here.

It really doesn’t even matter what they believe....it’s what THEIR CANON Law says. Their opinions are irrelevant to the issue.

So presuming free will is involved, do you think that Benedict actually resigned of his own free will?

If he didn’t, then aren’t you all now in a position of having TWO popes?

The pope is a fag.

If so, wouldn't be the first.

I’ve certainly not seen any significant contribution other than “you’re wrong”. That seems to be about all they have to offer.

You don’t think like God thinks. He wants us to admit we can’t fix it and then ask Him to. The God that brought His People out of Egypt and redeemed the world on the Cross can fix this. If we trust him and ask him for help.

The catholic church has a pretty sordid 2000 year history. If 2000 years of prayer haven't helped, what's a few more years going to do? It's time to wake up and realize that the deeply entrenched homosexual/pedophile mafia has absolute control of the church apparatus and isn't relinquishing it. Quite the contrary, the catholic church is headed the same direction as the Episcopalians and Anglicans, where homosexuality is no longer stigmatized and homosexuals are included in all aspects of church affairs, up to and including communion. Watch for it. Coming to a catholic church near you within the next decade or so.

metmom:

I can’t answer that. If he resigned under duress, then it was not a valid resignation and Benedict is still the legitimate Pope. Francis is not. You can’t have 2 Popes, there is either 1 True legitimate Pope and one Anti-Pope or 2 Anti-Popes and no real pope but never 2 True Legitimate Popes.

No one can remove the Pope, only death and the Pope Resigning under his own “free will.” Free will is the Key term (Canon 332). See link below.

The homosexual/pedophile mafia forced/induced Bennie to "resign/retire" and then installed Frankie. So much for your theory and canon law.

AlaskaErik: That is internet speculation. No evidence to support that theory.

I think implicitly, the Homosexual lavender mafia had a role in Pope Benedict resigning. On Church Governance and administrative matters, they resisted him. He was old and week and got tired of fighting them. So I think what you are suggesting from that point of view is correct.

However, I have not seen explicit evidence that the Lavender mafia forced him to resign.
