I wonder what bishop Barron thinks? The church has to allow priests to marry to correct this scourge. Priests were allowed to marry before in the past but the doctrine changed.
I think the non gayness of the church attracts gays who like deviousness, their own sex and wearing dramatic, over the top clothes. It’s not the same stereotype as theater, but it’s close. There is an unnaturalness to the church (supernatural) as there is with theater — both the domain of the imagination. In the imagination you can carve out your own world that has nothing to do with the constraints of everyday reality.
The Orthodox Christian priests can marry and you rarely see this problem. Why the Homosexual Mafia has advanced so far is beyond me... but if you don’t believe in anything but power, then it seems more obvious. The Catholic Church is always subject to corruption but this guy who blew the whistle should become a Saint. It takes true belief in God and courage to do what he has done. That is the example needed for the Church.
Celibacy is not the problem. Homosexuality is the problem.
The Church has never allowed priests to marry. Ever.
The Church has allowed (and in some instances, even in the Latin Rite, still allows) married men to be ordained to the presbyterate.
There is a significant difference.
