The feeling they are not being fed is understandable, but not the reality of the Eucharist.

The abusive priests you describe are capable of a valid Consecration as are all sinful priests with narrow exceptions of intent.

But there is no excuse for the behaviors.

The bar should be remedied.

In my case I am divorced. I don’t see a method to remedy that.

“Normally local prosecutors would not cover for sexual predator priests”

They pretty much covered for Roger Mahony in Los Angeles

Divorce does not bar you. Remarriage without annulment or death of former spouse will.

yes, I am remarried. Annulment probably wouldn’t happen without a fight that I’m not too interested in.

Exactly how does annulment change anything? Honestly I don’t get that - how does that change the past?

On this point the church baffles me.

The reality of the Eucharist does not depend on the virtue of the presiding priest. Sacraments are visible acts of God, not man. Even Martin Luther agreed, declaring that the Eucharist properly administered was holy “even if by a wicked priest.”.

______________________________________________________________

Martin Luther left the church for corruption. He was excommunicated from the church for his corruption. His argument was that what he did didn’t matter, he had been ordained and that made what he did real.

I have never agreed with Martin Luther and will certainly not now. While Martin Luther saw the evil and got away from it starting a new church without being commanded by God to do so was no better than the existing structure. Luther would have been much better for us if he had worked from within to fix the problems.

I will not believe even if the pope says to, that the evil hands who had sex with children the night before are ok to bless the Eucharist. I believe that when a man becomes evil and unrepentant that it is the end of his priesthood.

The priesthood may be a great place to find other queers but if that is why you are there you should leave, NOW!

Henry VIII was frigging on to something...

Anything in a dress. The Church may have problems, but Henry VIII is hardly the answer.

It is now time to start arresting criminals like Obeso Rivera, seizing their wealth, seizing every church property involved in the assaults on children, and going after the entire church leadership like the child trafficking cartel that they are.

ENOUGH!

Roman Catholicism forfeited the right to call itself a church long ago. The Roman Catholic organization is no body of Christ.

AMEN!!!

Sacramental marriages are true marriages, unbreakable and not ever declared null.

Non-Sacramental marriages are declared null because they were never true marriages. They may look like marriages, but are not.

You’re kidding right. How about tossed from the church....forever

Actually, no. I'm a little embarrassed that I'm not kidding. My preference would be execution for predators who harm children, but that is not going to happen. Failing, that, I would like to see them tossed from the church forever, but there is that Christian hope for redemption, which the Church is a big fan of. In the real world, where bean counters are looking at having enough bodies to fill all positions (and falling short), the minimum I can reasonably ask for is that these evil perverts be put where they will do no more harm - and where they cannot give others access to do harm.

It's called "prison".

Personally, I'd rather see predators who harm children in the cemetery, but neither is going to happen soon enough or to enough of these people to protect the innocent.

That's just another fabrication by Roman Catholicism because God makes no such distinction.

It's not found anywhere in Scripture.

Yes we stayers are wallowing in toilet scum. But the leavers are wallowing in the void of the lack of graces found only in the reception of the Sacrament of the Eucharist which is the Real Presence, body and blood ,soul and divinity of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Leaving that and the truly great priests in the Church is a deadly price to pay.

Nonsense. None of that saves.

Church membership doesn't and claiming you are eating Jesus doesn't.

Only faith in Jesus and the new birth do that. It's those who BELIEVE in Jesus who are justified by faith. GOD tells us that in Scripture.

Following men and a church will lead to perdition.

Following JESUS alone is the only answer.

Those whom the church rejects are not so bad off. Then they can find Jesus and follow Him alone.
