>>In either case, the Roman Catholic has to follow the pope.<
< Only the Catholic popes, not Bergoglio.
But luthertide.....you don't get to decide who the pope is.
You're stuck with the dude until he resigns or dies.

Therefore, if the Pope were to demand adherence to a novelty of doctrine that was inimical to the faith -- heresy, in other words -- I would be morally bound to reject that teaching.
I believe this is very close to the argument that Luther expressed at his trial. "the pope's decretals have thrown utter disorder into Christianity, have surprised, imprisoned, and tortured the faith of the faithful...contrary to the gospel." And 500 years BEFORE Luther the Eastern Orthodox had the same beef.

I know what the popes prior to VC II taught. I will not obey two masters. YOU. DON'T. HAVE. A. CHOICE. as a Roman Catholic.
That's the part that amazes me. Roman Catholics condemn non-Roman Catholics for the very thing you are doing....not following the pope.
I would imagine for you that would be a "mortal sin" to not follow the pope.
You sure appear to be in violation of your denomination's canon law:

And I have my Faith. Well....no you don't....not per Roman Catholicism. You've become anathema to the RCC.
However, the Good News is that Christ loves you and has died for you and is ready to receive you as one of His own....if you will trust Him and only Him for your salvation.
Are you wanting to do that tonight?

To me it says only the Church {RCC} can interpret the Scriptures....not a lay Roman Catholic. And it says that the lay Catholics is not allowed to disagree with the *official* interpretation of Rome.

And last, we should never put our own personal interpretation on scripture, unless it agrees with the Tradition of the Catholic Church Which puts Scripture under the tradition of the Catholic church, making it subservient to Catholicism and someone's opinion of what it means.

Well, if Francis is not the valid pope, as elected by the college of cardinals, then there is no unbroken line of apostolic succession.
Who was the last valid pope, ebb?

I have a soul, a conscience and free will. I have a choice. And by exercising that choice, you put yourself under the damnation and condemnation of the Catholic church, per Unum Sanctum.
