KENOSHA, Wis. Jill Gilmore is one of those voters who have confounded both Democrats and Never Trump Republicans the most. She is a college-educated, gun-owning female conservative Republican who voted for Donald Trump. But heres the real kicker: She is also a devout Evangelical Christian.
In the list of what is most important to myself and my family, faith is always first, said the striking 34-year-old mother of seven, small business owner, and community volunteer who says she and her husband teach their children daily that behavior and respect towards others is not an option, but a requirement.
Contrast the Gilmore Golden Rule with her vote for Donald Trump who is accused of an affair with a porn star, and who does not have a reputation for politeness and respect for others and her decision stuns the sensibilities of both his resisters and experts.
From their perch they see a moral conflict, but she sees her support for Trump as a pragmatic, not ideological, decision. This was a calculation made by millions of religious conservatives, a cadre my co-author Brad Todd and I call the King Cyrus Conservatives in The Great Revolt.
Gilmore sees that calculation as paying off, especially now....

Any Christian knows that God does His work through flawed men.
Ye who is without sin, cast the first stone.
Love the sinner - hate the sin.
People can change. I’m living proof of that.
We are all flawed individuals. God works in mysterious ways!
I strongly believe the same about President Trump. Has the been a more openly Christian President in the last 100+ years?
there is the fact that the left loves to slander individuals and construct straw man arguments about those people who have values.... Trump is not perfect but look at his life and how he interacts with people and you know you are dealing with a man who has moral will to draw on.....I look at those in the media and politics who attack him on morality issues and it seems to come from very immoral people that put on a show for everyone virtue signaling what morally upstanding people they are when the fact is that all that morality is to these individual is a point of manipulation of those who have real values.
Exactly. They have accused Donald Trump of many untrue things. None proven. I will not vote based on the accusations of/from evil people.
Even then, God forgives.
That is one tough and productive gal!
Trump earned billions for himself and his corporation through legal means. In FACT, if he had ever done anything illegal the clintonobamabushes would be raking him over the hypocritical coals over it
He divorced his former wives giving them good settlements
What foorikkin bad morals is evryone blabbing about?
None
Just eerrgh!
isn’t it funny that they have such a miniscule understanding of Christianity they never figure this out?
Maybe because President Trump is a friend of christians and seeks to defend religious liberty? Not much different than our support for conservative gay Milo Y.
Jill Gillmore bio
Yep. Oskar Schindler is a prime example.
That’s what I have always heard. I’m no Bible scholar by any means, but have heard that God has used imperfect and flawed men throughout time.
This concept seems like something the left cannot grasp.
They just cant grasp redemption. Im not convinced he slept with a porn star, and I dont care about his life before entering government service. I care about what he does. You can see his heart in the kindness he shows to those who need kindness. I love his honesty, he just says what he thinks and it makes me laugh at how uncomfortable it makes the elites
Just look at Jimmy Carter. I mean he’s never been divorced, his biggest “sin” was admitting he had ‘lust in his heart’, and he still teaches Sunday School to this day.
And he was a rotten President.
I Cast my Vote for a President not a Pastor, what part of that do they not understand.
>>isnt it funny that they have such a miniscule understanding of Christianity they never figure this out?
It is funny. Christians have a secret that they tell to everyone who will listen...but these people won’t listen. So, they create a “Christianity” that is compatible with their worldview, because it must fit in to what they believe. They think that Christians believe that a person should be perfect to be acceptable to Jesus and, sadly, they can find churches that believe that as well.
I voted for Trump.
Yes, I think he is a jerk.
But I like what he has done so far.
He gets my vote in the next election.
