The 40-foot Peace Cross was erected in 1925 as a memorial to the 49 soldiers from Prince Georges County, Maryland who perished in World War I.
The Bayview Park Cross in Pensacola, Florida has occupied its location since 1941 when Americas armed forces prepared to enter World War II.
And the Veterans Memorial Bell Tower in Evendale, Ohio was dedicated just last year in memory of those who lost their lives in the service of our nation.
As a grateful nation marks the sesquicentennial of Memorial Day, how ironic it is that the three aforementioned war memorials are in imminent danger of being evicted from the sites on which they currently stand.
Thats because such homages to Americas war dead are deemed offensive by such atheist hate groups as the American Humanist Association, the Freedom from Religion Foundation and America Atheists, which argue that any war memorial on public land federal, state or local must be entirely Godless, otherwise it violates the First Amendments so-called Establishment Clause.
Thats now how the attorneys general of 14 states interpret the Establishment Clause.
In a brief submitted this month to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in a lawsuit pitting the American Humanist Association against the city of Pensacola, the state AGs noted that the U.S. Supreme Court has previously held that the Establishment Clause does not compel the government to purge from the public sphere all that in any way partakes of the religious.
It remains to be seen whether or not the majority on the 11th circuit sides with the atheists. If so, the residents can expect the unGodly plaintiffs to desecrate the ground on which the Bayview Cross has stood for more than 90 years.
Indeed, one of the four plaintiffs recruited by the American Humanist Association contacted the city of Pensacola to reserve the site where the cross is located. When the atheist was told the site had already been reserved by a local church, he raised hell.
So the church graciously volunteered to hold its Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at another site within the park. And the atheist held his own service, using the Bayview Cross for purposes of satanic worship.
Atheist hate groups that shake their fists at God, that despise those of us who are followers of Jesus Christ, are unworthy of the freedom for which Americas sons and daughters in uniform have fought and died.
For there are none lower in this country than those who begrudge our fallen heroes a few acres of public land in places like Prince Georges County, Pensacola and Evendale.
Someone needs to trample on these atheist hate groups.
You got that right
Please dont be alarmed. But I believe their are atheists and agnostics (perhaps deist would be a better term) right here at FR. And theyre not here to spy.
They dont advertise because they believe in the rights written in the constitution.
The people you refer to are radical Marxist atheists.
“But I believe their are atheists and agnostics (perhaps deist would be a better term) right here at FR. And theyre not here to spy.”
I think you’re correct. I have no problem with atheists, they are free to believe or not believe whatever they want.
The others are more like Hate-Theists.
The problem with atheists is that they are going to Hell, and they want to take as many people with them as possible. That is the aim of Satan, whose work they do in this world.
Laws protecting God-given life/rights should not apply to those who do not believe in God. Their choice.
It’s because they didn’t get that red wagon or pony for Christmas.
“And the atheist held his own service, using the Bayview Cross for purposes of satanic worship.”
I rest my case. Atheists cannot possibly suck enough.
Atheists are always ultimately liberal and leftist and not conservative.
No natter what they may think.
Your post is a nice try. Unfortunately, in addition to atheists and agnostics, we have folks here at FR who -despite saying they’re on on the side of freedom - really just want everyone to see the world as they do, which unfortunately, is no better than the idiots in the article.
If atheists are offended by believers exercising their faith publicly, then they can always go to places like Cuba or North Korea. But then, they wouldn’t have the pleasure of trying to pervert the first amendment here.
These punks obviously do not serve in combat. After I was released from Womack Army Hospital, Ft Bragg, NC for convalescent leave in July 69, I stopped by DC to see Chief Infantry Branch or one in charge of CPT’s assignments. I will never forget Arlington as I rode through with the top down on my corvette. All those crosses and even the Star of David are what those men wanted. I almost made that place, and; I would have wanted a cross. The men who fight for America in combat have a special relationship with Jesus/God.
I dont care if they are atheists. Just as long as they respect my God. if not. F EM AND MAY GOD DESTROY THEM. That’s what He did to Sodom and Gomorrah, why cant this be any different?
It must really burn them that they have no source for their “values”.
