Who else was he speaking to? You are just making things up. Not 'context' look at the actual words.
No. Context is critical to understand this issue. You can't just pull one verse out of context and read into it what you want.

John 20:19-23
19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you! 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
21 Again Jesus said, Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyones sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.
Then later it says...
Matthew 28:19-20
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
20and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Sheesh, context is critical all the time, and then the very ones who cherry pick and use verses out of context, accuse us of doing that very thing.
