FAIRMONT, W.Va. (AP) - A church in West Virginia has been voted out of its local Baptist association because its pastor says gays and lesbians should be welcomed.
The Times West Virginian reports the Fairmont Baptist Association voted to disfellow the First Baptist Church in early April.

Affiliated with the liberal American Baptists instead of the Southern Baptists.
On the link to the teachers helping students, please vote for Sue Smith of Hermes Elementary. Good, Godly woman.

raiderboy is telling the truth, it used to be labeled a mental illness and treated as such. Then homos got into the mental health system and changed the codes so that it was no longer viewed as a mental illness. Just like pedos are now trying to do.
See my post 46
It is called morality.
With reference to the man I mentioned before, I'm quite sure ECT didn't jolt him out of homosexual promiscuity.
For those who might not know, Electroconvusive Therapy (ECT) is Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). It's not "torture" or "frying people's brains". It's is a procedure with often less side-effects than drugs in treating certain mental illnesses.
Small electric currents are passed through the brain, intentionally triggering a brief seizure. It's done under anesthesia, it's very low-voltage (unlike in decades past) and it does quickly reverse symptoms of some serious mental illnesses like severe depression, severe mania, and catatonia.
It's within ethical medical practice to do ECT for these maladies as a last resort.
I think this is not so for homosexuality.
But I am open to countervailing evidence, if you can supply it.
With the possible exception of saving the life of a person bent on self-harm/suicide, ECT should not be imposed on a non-consenting rational subject. That would be gravely unethical, a form of medical assault.
Welcomed as what? As members? As clergy? As attendees?
I'll bet Mrs. Raiderboy is a hoot to be around.
For Catholics that's early October. The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. It celebrates the fact that animals, too, are God's creation. What's wrong with that?
That was my question too. Certainly they should be welcome to attend services and hear the Gospel but they are not welcome to join nor are they welcome to call themselves Christians while still openly engaging in unrepentant sin.
I hate having to constantly correct fake news.
At university i had courses in mental disorders in my minor . At that time ,homosexuality was criminal if exhibited in public. There was not involuntary ECT even even but many were driven by fear of criminal prosecution to remove that demon. Most of those studies, like Shockley and Jensen have been scrubbed by the political correct police. But i was a good student.
I'm not demanding that you get it for me. Maybe the research has been put into the PC black hole. I'm just reflecting that the only actual evidence I've seen was that of the homosexual person I knew, Tim, who after ECT was not suicidal but still (as he himself demonstrated) compulsively promiscuous.
Back in the old days I think they used shock treatment for everything not just homosexuality. No matter what your mental illness was. Now they just give you drugs. Same difference.
It shouldn’t have come to that. Having a female “pastor” should have done it.
I see where you are coming from now. Message received. My mistake.
