Well, I had only 18 months until retirement so I stuck it out. It was in local government and they were completely invested in political correctness. And my boss, the HR Director, was a minister’s wife at some mega contemporary church — where it’s all about showtime and nothing about Christ.

I would never be saying this

“””I have friends who are gay”””

So I would never have to worry about having to RSVP

"I agree with that. It isn’t marriage as defined in the Bible by the RCC."

So the teachings of Jesus are unique to the Roman Catholic Church? Who knew?

Would you agree that there are differing degrees of sin? Some committed knowingly and willingly, and others committed out of ignorance or unwittingly.

Yes.

To lump them all together is Pharisaical and is in direct conflict with the Words and deeds of Jesus.

Knowingly living an adulterous lifestyle as defined by Jesus Christ is hardly sinning unwittingly.

God said in Genesis that it was not good for man to be alone. Jesus said it is not good to be unequally yoked to another person. Yes, it is better to be celibate, but not all people are cut out for celibacy. People often get married to someone flying false colors, ie; pretend to be someone or something they are not, which ends in divorce too often.

God's requirement for marriage is not meant to be a millstone or punishment, for only He can divine the thoughts and motivations of the heart, which is where His mercy comes in.

God's instructions regarding marriage were more for practical purposes in order to have an orderly society that provided protection for women and children, just as the laws for food and hygiene were given to protect us from disease.

For you or anyone else, including the RCC and other religious organizations, to attempt to increase the burden that people bear is sinful and remindful of the Pharisees behavior of Jesus' day.

I would attend a wedding where the woman wasn’t a virgin and the man wasn’t either...

God Himself is being called on to oversee this solemn event and those in attendance are "witnesses" of it.

Exactly, I would not attend.

LOL! Yeah what did Jesus know anyway? When He said, "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh" He really meant "one flesh...until someone better comes along". When Jesus said, "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder" Matthew and Mark both missed it when He continued "just kidding, guys." If all marriage is meant to be is a protection for us poor, helpless women and children the wouldn't it be more practical for one man to protect two women? Or ten? Or 700, as in Solomon's case?

You belittle marriage. You reduce it's meaning from something God meant as a blessing, a gift that men and women give to each other, to just a practicality. A temporary state, a contract of convenience. And I'm the Pharisee.

Something we can both agree on. Yes, you are a Pharisee, as you miss the whole point of God’s forgiving grace. Continue in your moral superiority, if it makes you feel...superior.
