steelfish continues to labor under the false impression that numbers somehow impress God.

Numerous examples from the OT and NT indicate otherwise.

It is usually a small remnant that is truly faithful and that pleases God.

The question is.....are you in that remnant?

“steelfish continues to labor under the false impression that numbers somehow impress God.”

100% correct and the main point.

I’m asking steely for a list because his claim *doesn’t ring true* to me.

It seems you’d have to average at least 2 defecting theologians per seminary, which is far from anything I’ve read. So I’d like to see the data.

Perhaps I’m not current with liberal Protestant theologians leaving.

Unfortunately, liberals leaving a liberal seminary doesn’t make the case that people who know the Scriptures go to Rome, since liberals don’t believe in inspiration of God’s Word. Ergo, they do not know God’s Word well enough that their decision is grounded in truth.

In history, Rome threatened the slaughter of pastors who wouldn’t bend the knee to Rome, like Islam does. But of course this is not free will, so that doesn’t support his claim either.

Give him time to list at least 2 thousand Protestant theologians and I’ll take a look. It should be very interesting. In the end, I am guessing it will use the same math that he used to invent “30,000” denominations.

In the meantime, you are entirely correct that numbers don’t matter to God.
