Father God,

Maker and Perfector of all Creation,
We praise Your Name!

You Are Holy, You Are Merciful, You Are Just. You rain down wrath for sin. You offer compassion for the sinner.
All the earth is the work of Your hands. Our hope and our fate are treasured in Your heart.

You have given us a Judeo-Christian heritage bought by the blood of Your Son, and a nation bought by the blood of patriots. Preserve us our nation, we pray, in the Name of Christ Jesus, our Risen Lord.

Have mercy on us now, dear Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for the sins our nation has lately permitted; for our national shame: corruption, disbelief, dishonesty, regressive selfishness, sexual impurity, covetousness, pride, ignorance, vainglory, cowardice and deceit; for the loss of freedom of Your believers to speak, to witness, to make policy in Your Name.

As intercessors, we ask Your clear direction for our President and all his administration, and for the redemption of our People from the moral squalor bought by the self-righteous, vile foolishness of the well-funded opposition to Your laws and to our Constitution.

May the thoughts of our minds and the meditations of our hearts bring forth a wave of cleansing in our governments at every level, our schools and universities, media and entertainment, homes, families, congregations and businesses.

Protect our children from corruption and exploitation, Lord, we humbly pray. Shine like the sun over the horizon of a summer day in every dark rathole of sin, if it be Your Will for us, Father.

May our military members serve You without fear of condemnation by their own commanding officers.

May the lost, the ignorant, the poor, the sick and the wicked be brought under the care of the Good Shepherd, His Will, and His Way. Give your People the strength, the will and the courage to fight, to protect and to rebuild.

Yet not our will, but Yours be done, Triune God of glory, peace and wisdom.

We ask Your favor on our nation although we are miserable sinners,
saved only by Your Grace and the atoning blood of the Lamb
in Whose Name we pray:
Yeshua, Savior, Emanuel, Son of God,

I bought a pictoral condensed version of Pilgrim’s Progress while at the Billy Graham library. Gave it to my granddaughter who is a voracious reader at age 6. She read the whole thing at Easter while grown-ups we’re playing board games.
