Doubting basic foundation of faith. Not surprised.
God has a special place for false prophets. Its not a nice place.
Needs a new job.
Kinda hard to tell the COE apart from the Babylon Bee
Popes that dont think theres a Hell.
Archbishops that dont believe in the Resurrection.
Republicans that dont believe in balanced budgets.
We are living in a Hieronymous Bosch painting.
>>Asked in an interview about the New Testament account of Jesus rising from the tomb, the Archbishop said: I dont think any of us actually knows, quite frankly.
I once got into an argument with a Methodist pastor who said the exact same thing. I told him that he’s in the wrong line of work if he isn’t certain of the resurrection and maybe he should be Buddhist.
Are they just taking applications from anyone these days, regardless of religious belief?
What a coincidence! If I were to be asked whether John Davies was an actual Christian - since being the Archbishop of Wales doesn't appear to require it - my reply would be the same.
So he is basically an Atheist.
Can he prove that it didn’t happen?
Was he there as a witness?
Why is he even clergy??
What better way to get a bit of a rise from the occasional pew-warmers.
The Resurrection of the Dead
1Co 15:12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
1Co 15:13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
1Co 15:14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
1Co 15:15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
1Co 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
1Co 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
1Co 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
1Co 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
Resurrection is no more difficult to comprehend than birth and life are in the first place. Were just used to, CSM see birth and life is all. Thats why resurrection is considered a matter of faith, not everyday observation. But its no more fantastic than this life really is.
Or a KGB plant, but I repeat myself.
It’s an interesting process of theological subversion that has progressed over many years, even wearing down on whatever resolve there was in a long experienced Christian clergyman.
We see the attacks on Christianity as trained against non-Christians and members of Christian congregations, but those attacks have always been most interested in influencing the clergy most of all. Get to the leaders and the sheeple will follow.
