Jesus said to one of the men on a cross next to him:
Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Paradise was the holding place where those who had died before Christ were waiting for him. Paradise does not mean heaven.
Jesus is the first one into heaven at his Ascension.

Paradise is the bosom of Abraham.
It is the place where the Kehillah waits for the day of Trumpets.
