VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Francis, starting Holy Week services leading to Easter, urged young people on Sunday to keep shouting and not allow the older generations to silence their voices or anesthetize their idealism.
Francis spoke a day after hundreds of thousands of young Americans and their supporters answered a call to action from survivors of last months Florida high school massacre and rallied across the United States to demand tighter gun laws.
He did not mention the demonstrations. Catholic News Service (CNS) said Gabriella Zuniga, 16, and her sister Valentina, 15, both students from Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, where 17 people were killed in February, attended the service with their parents.
CNS posted a photo of the two holding up signs in St. Peters Square, with one reading, Protect Our Children, Not Our Guns.
The 81-year-old Francis led a long and solemn Palm Sunday service before tens of thousands in the square, many of them young people there for the Catholic Churchs World Day of Youth.
Francis led a procession in front of the largest church in Christendom to commemorate the day the Bible says Jesus rode into Jerusalem and was hailed as a savior, only to be crucified five days later.
YOU HAVE IT IN YOU TO SHOUT
Drawing on biblical parallels, Francis urged the young people in the crowd not to let themselves be manipulated.
The temptation to silence young people has always existed, Francis said in the homily of a Mass.
There are many ways to silence young people and make them invisible. Many ways to anesthetize them, to make them keep quiet, ask nothing, question nothing. There are many ways to sedate them, to keep them from getting involved, to make their dreams flat and dreary, petty and plaintive, he said.

Thanks for that reference. I added some verses that refers to that specific commandment.
Some of my friends and I in recent decades would sing the ditty and replace Goebbles with Bill Clinton and Obama. Usually over beers.
Are people really that stupid? I could swear such people who wrote that drivel are really privileged and have guards themselves, are stupid, or got high from too much crack.
SHOUT! The empty barrel makes the most noise.
Most likely a lot of it because it’s the “cool thing to do “ According to their friends.
So Frank is just another gun grabber.
He’s a Jesuit. That’s the problem. Have you ever seen the Jesuit Extreme Oath of Induction? I’ll post a link. Make sure you go down to the paragraph in red and while you are reading it, keep in mind that if you are not a Catholic, you are the heretic they are talking about.

Did Soros also buy the papacy too? Francis is nothing but a globalist puppet!
Frankie was never ON the rails. He is a Communist fiend, a “bad bit of beef”, as Scrooge might have said, more at home with brownshirts than freedom lovers.
Those are jihadist declarations. Crazy.
But I’m not sure I I.D. this somewhat goofy pope along those lines.
And this:
The False Prophet
Pope SJW
The next pope will be just as bad as this moron.
All but a few cardinals are radical left-wing turds.
Im not Catholic but I have always respected Catholics, especially their fierce stance against abortion. There are some very good, faithful Catholics on FR whom I have great respect for. I am a fan of the Rosary and some of Catholicisms other beautiful traditions.
Its because of my respect for these faithful Christians that I will not post my true opinions about this Pope. I dont want to cause offense.
Ill just say this: If I posted my true, uncensored opinions of Pope Francis, I would probably be banned for language.
Again, I dont want to cause offense. Ill just say that this article made my blood boil.
Not to fear: many Catholics agree with you.
