Man invented devices to measure time, but the creation of it was still God's doing.
That’s right because anything recording Him is automatically counted as *religious* and not *secular.*
How convenient.......
Josephus was born in 37. According to your tradition Jesus was dead by then. And anyway, the TF is a 4th C. interpolation.
There is no recording going on in the Gospels. They are not first hand accounts. If they were first hand accounts, it stands to reason that they would have been written in Aramaic, not Greek. The Gospels are devotional works written generations after the fact. The writers don't properly identify themselves. They don't fix dates. Their works are not independent accounts as they borrow heavily from each other, especially from Mark and even then they can't get the orders of events straight.
I was referring to John, the author you so conveniently reject.
I notice the spirit that is within you still does not want to view ‘objective reasons’. But I am going to post something on my profile page, anyway, for the Easter Season.
There is a fresh posting on my profile page, for the Easter Season. A good read, the highlights of one of the moswt powerful sermons I’ve heard in my 72 years on this orb
kerping ... for the season
Kerping ... for the season
I hope you have the same zeal in believing Hannibal never existed as you have for Jesus never existing. Rome historians were a joke describing history at that time, any serious scholar would attest to that. One mistake that offended authorities or made certain areas of Rome look weak meant either death or exile. Also, Christianity wasn't exactly embraced by the authorities. Why would Roman authorities give a lick or even permit some “cult” to spread their message via the archives or approved "historians".? Jerusalem was a backwater dump and stabilizing an Empire was more at the forefront than a religion that ran counter to the State sanctioned ones.
Youve put a lot of work into your homepage!
"I contributed to the argument in one of my previous blogs that the idea of an expanding universe is consistent with the Bibles descriptions of the cosmos, and Im not just referring to the Big Bang as the point where God said Let there be light. I identified ten scriptures that are especially important need to be read via the King James Version, for this particular reason:
Most notable are Isaiah 40:22, Isaiah 44:24, and Zechariah 12:1, because the word used to describe that expansion was stretcheth. The word eth was Hebrew for perpetual time. In the Kings English, verbs in a present tense fell into two categories. If they ended in an s, they referred to something happening now and only now (today, all present tense verbs end in s). But verbs ending in eth described actions being done perpetually. For example, John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. When we translate this into believes, it loses some meaning, because the indication is that one is only believing now. Believeth refers to someone believing now, in the future, and forever; it is a continual believing that never ends.
This is why it is so profound that the King James translators (who had no idea that the universe is expanding) wrote that God stretcheth the heavens. Without their knowledge, the Holy Spirit through their pens was already proclaiming that the Lord is expanding the universe now, continually, and forever. More than 300 years before Hubble made his discovery, the King James Bible had already declared that the universe was in a state of constant expansion.
Not forever ... there is coming a day when He will roll it up like a skroll. Personally, I believe the latent energy in the zero point field is what He will tap to do the Rapture on us. ... Think about what that will do to the fabric of the ‘local universe’!
Mostly for our Lord ...
BTW, thanks so much for the data ... I do so enjoy learning things, especially when focus upon The Lord our God and His work.
Time once was . . .
That’s what I’m all about. ;-)

How do you figure God came up with time?
“There are no secular historical accounts from the time that Jesus is purported to have existed that record any of his deeds.”

I doubt there were very few professional historians assigned to keep tabs on Jesus and his doings at the time it all went down. He was just another barely-known preacher in some entirely forgettable Roman province.
It’s not as if there were a 24/7 news channel devoted to following him - or any other minor religious figure - in far flung provinces.
You’re also forgetting that at the time nobody had any idea he would become the founder of a worldwide faith, it was only after his resurrection that his impact on world history would just be barely a sprout.
So, by it’s very nature all “reporting” had to be after the fact - nobody of any stature, much less historians, would care to investigate and chronicle His life, death and resurrection.
Let’s not over look the ‘historical’ nature of the four gospel writers. I doubt that they thought of themselves as ‘founders of a new religion’. It is more likely they wrote as Luke told Theophilus, to make a record of events, put another way, they wrote for the Historical record.
