The forty contemplative Little Sisters of Mary, the Mother of the Redemer, in Saint-Aignan-sur-Roe, France, are persecuted by their liberal bishop Thierry Scherrer of Laval, writes riposte-catholique.fr (February 27).
The sisters run four old-peoples homes and formerly also served in the bishops house. Scherrer considers the sisters to be too traditional. He is specifically aggravated by the fact that they decided during their 2012 general chapter to return to the old habit.
Because of a merger of the sisters nursing homes, Scherrer is now a member of the governing board of the civil association running them. No expert in the field, he imposed management decisions without listening to any expert advice. Faced with the resistance of the sisters he ordered a canonic visit whose results were decided beforehand.
Scherrer got the Roman Congregation for Religious involved which suspended the council of the sisters and exiled the superior general and the master of novices of the community. Three liberal apostolic commissioners where imposed.
But the sisters refused to receive the commissioners and appealed against the measures at the Roman Signatura Apostolica.
Remember when you really loved the Pope and the Vatican..?
I’m not a Catholic but I have an enduring respect and admiration for Pope John Paul II. He was one of the few actual Prophets of our time.
Non-Catholic friend, please pray for the Catholic Church. The Church and the faith are being attacked and undermined from within the Church itself.
“Non-Catholic friend, please pray for the Catholic Church.”
I do pray for the Catholic Church and for you, too.
Love, Megan
Prayers up for these sisters.
Thank you. May God bless you.
Would that we could bring those good sisters to the U.S.A!
God HAS blessed me! Far more than I deserve!
His blessings on me are to me proof of His unlimited love for us and also of His unending Mercy for us!
For all of our sins and for all of our straying from His path He’s always there waiting for us with His arms wide open.
When we fall down at the foot of the Cross to beg His forgiveness for our sins He’s a loving Father who raises us to our feet, wraps us in His Love, and tells us that He doesn’t see those sins anymore.
Praise God and may He shower you and yours with a wealth of love and Salvation!

Well said.
And thank you for your blessing for me.
He is a loving Father, our joy and our salvation.
Interesting that they appealed to the Signatura, I wonder if they will be heard.
Did you know JPII wrote poetry? I will leave two for you (and the bishop in this story)!
“Girl disappointed in love”
With mercury we measure pain
as we measure the heat of bodies and air;
but this is not how to discover our limits—
you think you are the center of things.
If you could only grasp that you are not;
the center is He,
and He, too, finds no love—
why don’t you see?
The human heart—what is it for?
Cosmic temperature. Heart. Mercury.
“Children”
Growing unawares through love, of a sudden
they’ve grown up, and hand in hand
wander in crowds (their hearts caught like birds,
profiles pale in the dusk).
The pulse of mankind beats in their hearts.
On a bank by the river, holding hands—
a tree stump in moonlight, the earth a half-whisper—
the children’s hearts rise over the water.
Will they be changed when they get up and go?
Or look at it this way: a goblet of light tilted
over a plant reveals unknown inwardness.
Will you spoil what has begun in you?
Will you always separate the right from the wrong?
