That’s what this articles says as well ( see charts above ).
In the non denominational Christian Church I attend, former Catholics make up at least 70% of the church's membership. That's not a surprise where I live given more people identify as "former Catholic" than anything else. Catholic churches near where I live have been shrinking for years, non-denominational Christian churches have been growing and expanding.
The church I belong to was about 300 members when I joined. It's now well over 9,000 members / regular attendees. Christmas, Easter and Mothers Day we easily pass 17,000+ attendees and always add extra services.
Yep - started Catholic and lapsed but tried several “flavors” over the years and 16 years ago went non-denominational and find it perfect.
