Chinese officials have said churches will not be allowed to function unless they post the signs
Since Chinas new regulations for religious affairs took effect on February 1, minors have been banned from entering places of worship in several regions.
A priest in Hebei province who asked to remain anonymous told ucanews.com that authorities had asked clergymen in some parts of the province to post signs prohibiting minors from entering religious venues, prayer houses and other church premises.
They also threaten churches that they cannot be used if they refuse to post the signs, he said.
A blogger wrote that religious venues are the third premises, following clubs and internet bars, where minors are prohibited from entering by authorities.
Peter, a Catholic in central China, said he had seen such signs posted in churches in Xinjiang.
He told ucanews.com there are no legal grounds for officials prohibiting minors from entering religious venues, and he accused officials of violating Chinas constitution.
When minors enter internet bars, the government and police turn a blind eye. However, they are becoming very strict in prohibiting minors from entering religious venues. It is ridiculous, he said.

If she didn’t mean ALL priests why would she post this?-————
“There is every indication that the children are safer away from the Roman Catholic priests.” (Post #17)

Probably because of the reason I gave.
You can’t tell by looking at a man if they are a homosexual molester or not.
And there’s no knowing just how widespread the problem really is.
I certainly would not expect accurate reporting out of any organization embroiled in such a mess. It’s not unlikely that the numbers are under reported by the Vatican.
And of course, not to mention the Vatican’s stellar handling of the situation.
Yup, some bad apples ruined it for everyone.
How ironic. I’ve not read about vietnam in forever. I dont know how repressive they are compared to China.

Amen.
Boy rapers such as coaches and teachers and boy scout leaders and youth group leaders, the list goes on and on. They all have higher rates of abuse than priests.
Pope Francis has to make a proclamation that this is very evil and unacceptable. The communists keep showing who they are.

It is at that. Both countries are very similar when it comes to human rights which is very repressive. Its possible that Vietnam may be more tolerant of religion as it had a long history of catholism due to being a French colony. Concerning the international schools; both countries depend on an export economy which requires the multinationals there to build products. Which means lots of expats are necessary to provide technical and management expertise. Naturally, these expats require good schools for their kiddos. China and Vietnam are very practical in this regard. Theres several international schools in these countries, especially China being it opened to the west before Vietnam. Seems theres roughly a three way split of curriculums; American based attended primarily by Americans, Canadians, Aussies, NZ, others. German/French schools, British which is based upon the bachelorette system. Anyway, as a practical matter expats are pretty much left alone and are not bothered. Btw, off topic but maybe interesting; the Chinese hate the French as theyre arrogant, condescending, most of all theyre cheap. Favorites are Americans, Canadians, Aussies, NZs.
