On January 31, 2018, my wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. At the end of this year, in mid-December, my wonderful parents will celebrate their 50th. Before my beloved father-in-law was criminally taken from us by a drunk driver in 2015, he and my sweet mother-in-law were married for almost 46 years. Taken together, those are rare numbers these days in our slow-to-marry, quick-to-divorce, sex-crazed, hook-up culture.
Like every other marriage in human history, none of the unions mentioned above were, or are, perfect. Each of us has certainly seen our fair share of tough times, but, as far as I know, there has never been even a hint of adultery, and “divorce” has never even been whispered. Of course, if any of us decided to abandon what God has revealed and go our own way when it comes to sex and marriage, disaster would result.
If you are similarly blessed in marriage within your own family, then almost certainly you or your spouse, parents, siblings, in-laws, and the like, subscribe to—or at least are heavily influenced by—Christian teaching on marriage, sex, and the family. Tragically, that is fewer and fewer Americans.

My grandparents- over 60 years, my parents- 53 years, my husband and myself- just celebrated 28 years.

This culture is almost invisible to today’s media. To say that sexual activity outside of the marriage bond is just plain wrong has almost become hate speech and a triggering offense. It has even infiltrated FreeRepublic with its dirty jokes and folks bragging about their sexual prowess.
Mrs Tom and I hit 30 years last year and she is still, and always will be, the love of my life.

I'd like to add how this attitude has (sadly) infiltrated many of today's churches and the minds of professing Christians.
I know of one who thinks such traditional teaching on sex is "narrow-minded, self-righteous, and judgmental." This person supports sex outside of marriage, homosexual behavior, and abortion.
Liberalism destroys everything it touches. The communists know this and so want to push liberalism everywhere in America to hasten our destruction.
2 sets of grandparents 50 to 55 years, Mom and Dad in their 56th year, wife and I at 32 years, brother and sister in law at 31 years, and brother and sister in law at 20 years. Their examples showed the path for us.
....And it resulted in one Donald J.Trump getting elected as President. It was an antibiotic against liberalism.
