Since both words convey that it is difficult, does the correct word really matter?

It depends upon how much one reveres God’s inspired words. If the purity of what He has said is an issue to one who desires the truth, in order to know most assuredly what God has spoken, then, yes, it does matter. After being led astray by the versions of the Scriptures, having the Concordant Version is a great relief.
