Now We Know Why Pope Francis Destroyed the Pontifical Academy for Life:
New Appointee Declares Contraception Can Be a Duty

by Christopher A. Ferrara
January 13, 2018

It was always obvious why Pope Francis destroyed John Paul II’s Pontifical Academy for Life by sacking its entire membership of 172 persons, ordering the rewriting of its statutes and abolishing the pro-life oath that members were once required to take.  The plan was to convert the Pontifical Academy for Life into a vehicle for furthering his incredible program, now underway, of attempting to undermine the Church’s teaching on the intrinsic evil of acts contrary to the Sixth Commandment via Amoris Laetita’s (AL) promotion (in Chapter 8) of a form of situation ethics based on “complex circumstances.” That program will now advance, through the reconstituted Pontifical Academy, to an attack on the Church’s teaching on the intrinsic evil of contraception.

We now have proof positive of that intent.  As the indispensable Life Site News reports, a new appointee to the Academy, the so-called moral theologian Father Maurizio Chiodi, declared during a public lecture at the Gregorian on December 14 that there are “circumstances — I refer to Amoris Laetitia, Chapter 8 — that precisely for the sake of responsibility, require contraception.” Chiodi went on to state that when “natural methods are impossible or unfeasible, other forms of responsibility need to be found” and that “an artificial method for the regulation of births could be recognized as an act of responsibility that is carried out, not in order to radically reject the gift of a child, but because in those situations responsibility calls the couple and the family to other forms of welcome and hospitality.”

So, we are now informed by the Pope’s man at the Pontifical Academy for “Life” that a key element of what John Paul II called “the culture of death” is not only permissible but even obligatory when obedience to the Sixth Commandment, and indeed the Fifth Commandment (for contraceptives are often abortifacient in their effects), is “impossible or unfeasible.” That evil notion, of course, would mean the end of all morality.  To quote Professor Josef Siefert in this regard, Chiodi, with AL as his sole authority, would “place subjective responsibility over objective moral situations,” which error is “destructive not only of the moral teaching of the Catholic Church, but also of the essence of morality, and in fact, of any truth and any Church Teaching.”

Exactly so.  And, at the same time, a not-so-secret four-man commission is “studying” Humane Vitae as its 50th anniversary approaches. There is little doubt that this commission will lend its support to Chiodi’s heretical thesis.  After all, Francis himself has already declared, in remarks whose intent was confirmed by the Vatican, that contraception is justified as “a lesser evil” to limit the spread of the Zika virus. The opinion that one may commit a “lesser evil” in order to avoid a supposedly greater one contradicts the moral law at its very foundation.

What more proof do the “normalists” need that nothing is normal about this pontificate, but rather that it represents an apocalyptic development in the history of the Church, perhaps exceeding even the Arian crisis of the 4th century in magnitude?  This apostolate, however, will continue to report the truth about our situation, even as we await with hope its glorious resolution through the intervention of the Virgin Mother of God — in just the way She prophesied at Fatima.

It’s obvious that Jesus as well as the last 2,000 years of Catholic teaching were wrong...Sin is good,it’s too hard to follow Jesus teachings and God is okay with whatever we do...It took pope Francis to tell us the real truth of the Catholic church..We are all going to heaven,so do whatever you want...
Annnnnd that would include not giving the church any money..a.Remember,GOD loves you and doesn’t care if you sin...Sooo,tell the church,no more money,I’m spending it all on me or my family...God loves me no matter what

Wasn’t this line of reasoning used just prior to the release of Humane Vitae, and that’s what made the document so shocking? I wasn’t around, but it is my understanding that “everybody” thought artificial contraception was going to get the thumbs up.

We know Humanae Vitae must fall for these rankest of sinners to declare their New Gospel.

Yes, they thought contraception was going to be ok now. Left ‘em reeling. It was that Pope’s last ecumenical, too. Such a simple Truth, such frothing.

Except for capitalism, using fossil fuels, and trying to protect your country from murdering muzzies. You still go straight to hell for those sins 😛

Looks like the False Prophet is doing his Master’s bidding in preparing the way for the Man of Sin. Good times ahead (sarc)

He makes me sick. One of his acolytes was out there burbling about how Francis’ papacy is a “paradigm shift” (in terms of dealing with morality). Yeah, I’d say.

But a Pope doesn’t get to do “paradigm shifts.” This braying ass believes he is founding a whole new Church.

The only way a Pope can be “fired” is by a general council, and they can only recognize that he was elected invalidity or has left the Faith through heresy. Until then, Francis is the “Catholic leadership”.

Rejecting hordes of homicidal savages is an unforgivable sin according to Francis.

...meaning it can only be done when it's finally realized that he isn't a true pope.
