"I guess some people like to forget all about those many places that Almighty God describes Israel as His "wife" (see for example Isaiah 54). Do they think God plans a homosexual marriage? " The Roman element, Hopium, requires viewing snippets of Scripture that appear on their face to support what Rome imported from Greek and Roman paganism.

To be deep in Scripture is to cease to be Roman.

Did you know that passage from Isaiah was interpreted in the New Testament ? The reference is not Israel. It is Jerusalem from above. Israel is masculine and Jerusalem is feminine. Kingdom (מַמְלָכָה) is also feminine, hence the references to the Kingdom of Israel and Kingdom of Judah with feminine language as wife, sister, or harlot (Hosea, Jeremiah)

Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.

...

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

...

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
