CNN)Cardinal Bernard Law, the former Boston archbishop who resigned in disgrace during the Catholic Church's sex abuse scandal, has died, the Vatican confirmed. He was 86. Law died in Rome, where he had served as archpriest of the Papal Liberian Basilica of St. Mary Major after he was forced to resign in 2002 as archbishop of Boston.

You are not supposed to speak ill of the dead. But I will afford myself a chuckle.
On this one I will shake my head in disbelief.
Will never understand why he did what he did when he had the power to stop it. Maybe it was power above him that we don’t know about? One can only guess. Only God knows.
Wish he left answers because would like to know.
Prayers for the repose of his soul.
God gave him the chance to do something about it here on earth and he didn’t.
Well, now there’s going to be an accounting before God for what he did.
He’d have been better off taking care of it then than now.
Something about millstones.........
Prove he did.

Why am I not surprised?
May he find justice.
Maybe it’s because I’m a Catholic and I’ll let God do the judging, not I.
Hope he repented and converted before he died.
