Are the weird things Matthew described at the death of Christ supported by others?
At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split. 52The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. After Jesus resurrection, when they had come out of the tombs, they entered the holy city and appeared to many people.
Well, both of the other synoptic gospels refer to the torn curtain. They also refer that something happened that was momentous enough to make the Centurion turn to Jesus and admit he must have been the son of God. That's consistent with Matthew. Matthew's account also fulfills prophecy from Jeremiah and Ezekiel. So, yes I believe it is supported by scripture.
Matthew IS Scripture.
The only things that need to be supported by Scripture are claims of things NOT found in Scripture.
Since Matthew IS Scripture, that demand for being supported by Scripture does not apply.
