Cardinal John Dew called for churches to divert from liturgical protocol of the Gospel reading conducted by ordained clergy with a Lectio Divina reading of the days Gospel performed by a layperson. Oh the horrors....a layperson reading the Bible at church. /sarc

This is one of those weird topics where invariably all liberals of any faith or none and some conservative non-Catholic Christians will agree. Some others include accepting priests marrying after they are priests and accepting civil divorce and remarriage. Try to find one Catholic lib that accepts abortion and gay marriage but also thinks a priest should always read the gospel during the liturgy.
