One year after the election of Trump, the U.S. bishops shift focus [Barf Alert]

“There was a great deal of fear because of all of the rhetoric,” he told Crux. “I was receiving calls from teachers asking what do I say to my schoolchildren that are coming to school crying and some of them are having panic attacks…There was a lot of fear and it began from the day of the election.”

“At that time we began to think about what we should be doing as a Church and what we could do,” Seitz recalled.

“To be honest with you, we were feeling kind of helpless…We couldn’t go to the people and say ‘don’t worry, there’s nothing to worry about.’ We really asked ourselves what can we say? What can we do?”

At that meeting his priests suggested the formation of a diocesan committee that could rapidly respond to decisions being made in Austin, the state’s capital, and in Washington, D.C.

“We were pretty much preparing for that mentally (Hillary Clinton's election)…but when President Trump was elected, we had to re-gear and it presented to us a whole different list of threats…we had to retool ourselves.”

“There was a great deal of fear because of all of the rhetoric,” he told Crux.”

All these people feeling ‘fear’ and ‘anxiety’ and ‘uncertainty’ were feeling that way because of the neurotic talking heads on the MSM, bought and paid for by the DNC and a ‘Don’t you dare question how we do things’ deep state. A year later, people are realizing they were lied to.

I know how the parents must have felt.
The first thought I had was, “How can
I explain this to the dog?”

...schoolchildren that are coming to school crying....

....
So sick of these liars. If a child comes to school crying over an election his parents are child abusers who have given him anxiety for no good reason.

The US Bishops and the Trump administration actually agree on the basics when it comes to immigration. They only differ on the details of the number of immigrants, whether they should be required to enter through legal means, and if immigrants who wish to harm us should be prevented from coming here.

“... great deal of fear ... coming to school crying...”

Pure BS. I’m Catholic and work in a Catholic school. Haven’t heard one single incident of fear or crying because of Trump.

Obviously, they need to petition Papa Frankie to do a Motu Proprio modifying the Code of Canon Law to prohibit unacceptable political positions as well as updating the Catechism of the Catholic Church to declare a belief in open borders as something that must be accepted with Divine and Catholic Faith.

Further, this modification to the Code of Canon Law (I personally would suggest adding a Canon 1398A as the logical article) would reinstate excommunications vitandi for that particular crime.

(Do I need to place a /sarc tag in this post or is it obvious enough without the tag?)

“The floor of hell is paved with the skulls of bishops.”

~ Saint Athanasius, Council of Nicaea, AD 325 ~

Bishop Seitz should act as a Bishop, not as a political snowflake.
