Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Dear Father in Heaven,
How Wonderful You Are!
You Alone Are The One true God,
King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Thank You For For The Extraordinary Privilege
of Addressing You As "Father"..
Thank You For Your Amazing Grace,
Your Discipline,
And Your Love.

Our Father, Who Art In Heaven,
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Thy Kingdom Come,
Thy Will Be Done On Earth As It Is In Heaven.

May the Leaders of Our Own Beloved USA
Receive Wisdom from You
to do the Right Thing.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Those of you who follow this Thread will have noticed, I am sure, that I talk about my Dad a lot. He was a wonderful man, raised as a middle child in a huge family of Gloucester Fisherman (The Old-Fashioned kind, on wooden sailing schooners) and actually went to sea at the age of NINE. At seventeen, he enlisted in the US Navy, and served both in WW2 and The Korean War. He was an official Navy Photographer (as well as a Landing Craft Driver) and was present during some of the bloodiest Battles in The South Pacific. I grew up looking at his photos of The Battle of Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and several other famous ones. And when I was nine, I took my place beside my Dad as his darkroom assistant.

As well as being a Warrior, a Sailor, an Artist, and Music-Lover, Dad was also a Man of Deep Faith.

There has been a James Clavell Story circulating on line that was first available in the Readers' Digest in 1968. I remember reading it back then, and remembering the story I will share with you today:

I could not have been more than 5 or 6, when Daddy was teaching me how to say my prayers. We knelt down on the floor together, next to my little bed and Dad started teaching me The Lord's Prayer. Right away, I wanted to know what it meant. It started out "Our Father". Was I talking to my Dad? Then Dad patiently went through every word and phrase of the Lord's Prayer, and not only explained what the words MEANT, but the concepts behind them. (At the time, I thought that "Trespassing" meant going into someone's yard without permission! Dad explained that even thinking mean thoughts about another person was "Trespassing!")

Most of all, Dad taught me the concept of today's Hebrew name for God "Avinu Malkenu". God is Our Father, but He is also The King.

The James Clavell Story is not about Prayer, but about Patriotism and The Love of Our Nation. It tells of a class that said "The Pledge of Allegiance" every day but did not understand the meaning behind the words. My Dad must have understood that "Religion by Rote" was not going to save his daughter, but an understanding of what we believe, and a personal, deep relationship with our Father in Heaven, would.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

This Symbol Represents Christians in The Middle East, who desperately need our Prayers.

Hallelujah and Amen

It look me a little bit to find a nice version of the traditional melody.

This one is sweet.
