Thanks for pointing out that some things that JESUS said were directed at specific persons; for a specific need.
WAY too many folks tend to believe that EVERYTHING He said was meant to be taken by EVERYONE as instructions.
So I reiterate the point. Jesus commanded us to love others as He loved us. A constant, overarching focus on the secret rapture indeed distracts believers from that imperative.
The point I took issue with is, Fantasywriter's comment: "I reiterate the point. Jesus commanded us to love others as He loved us. A constant, overarching focus on the secret rapture indeed distracts believers from that imperative. "
Not that we aren't, to love others as He loved us.....but that this overrides everything else Biblically......while the rapture is over rated!
I personally believe every word of the Bible has purpose......and while the word "rapture" is not found in the KJV, it is in the Latin. The rapture has a purpose in GOD's plan just as, " to love others as He loved us."
2 Timothy 4: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
I am not ashamed, I love his appearing!!!!!
