It is easier in cities to find churches that have confession more than once a week. In the suburbs, you find confession usually held on Saturday afternoon (though if you call the office, a priest will hear your confession at a moment's notice). Indeed, most cities to which I've traveled had several churches with multiple confession sessions during the weekday. Furthermore, on Sunday it is common in Latin Mass parishes to have confession 30 minutes before Mass - and if you're lucky, the confession keeps going through Mass until the last person in line is given absolution.
All that having been said, I find the lines for confession longest in cities and at Latin Mass, while most confession lines in the suburbs are short to non-existent.
In contrast, the lines for communion are long.
