I know this will sound of convoluted thinking, but more people die by the act of removal of the dictators in the Mideast than if they were left in place. I don’t have to mention American dead and maimed plus cost in trillions with a military at the point of exhaustion. I don’t condone their butchery and terror but can we say the Mideast is better off now than before the invasion of Iraq? It is also naive to think any Mideast country will go the way of Germany and Japan after WWII,let alone adopting anything close to democracy. On the contrary, the fight is now who will control theocracies and by what sect of Islam. What exactly are we doing there as we are at the cusp of fighting a war in the Pacific?
Not convoluted at all!!!!!!
Only found ONE FReeper so far who was for this mess.
Nice guy but old timer who was worried about Communist Kurds coming to power as a result, and that Assad’s father was very cruel.
Which may be true, but among Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, HOW MANY people have died or been hurt horribly?!?
For nothing
