No fail at all on my part. The words immediately before the quote you just cited shows Adams was just a bigot in regard to the Jesuits.

They outlived Adams. Since Adams’ letters came toward the end of his life, it might just be that he was senile. Either way in this regard he’s irrelevant and logically a complete failure in this regard as well.
