A light bulb should go on? Is this why Catholics believe one can lose their salvation? This is talking to the Corinthians who, although they claimed to be Christians, actually thought it was swell for their parishioners to be sleeping with their mother. Paul tells them in quite a few places to examine themselves to see if they're in the faith.
2Co 13:5-6 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! I hope you will find out that we have not failed the test.
