Did Christ say that he is the branch, or that he is like a branch? No confusion here.

No Christ did not say he is the vine

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

I am not sure if you know this, but “am” and “is” are both renditions of the verb”to be”. I “am” is first person singular and he/she/it “is” is second person singular. I M reminded of the Princess Bride:”That word you keep using... I don’t think it means what you think it means”
