Like Matthew 5:30
I haven’t seen one self maimed Roman Catholic. They pick and choose without regard for context.
So you are saying we should ignore the clear words of Scripture? Or have it mean whatever we want it to mean?
Thanks for posting this excellent essay.
While I am not a pre-trib rapturist (I’m pre-wrath), I agree with he arguments presented here.
Deuteronomy 4:24 says God is a consuming fire. Is He actually a fire or is this a representation of His character?
I put no limits on God. Do you?
Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.” Was He actually bread, or was He speaking figuratively?
Christ is the bread of life. Christ is not a loaf of bread. The Bread is (becomes) his body. Perfectly clear.
What don't you understand?
“The Great Sign of the Woman appears on September 23, 2017 exactly at sunset in Jerusalem - exactly at the end of Rosh Ha Shanah, exactly at the time of the blowing of ‘the last trump.’”
The event on September 23 does look like what is described in Revelation to me as well.
However, it is a very big stretch to start matching up all of these other events to the dates you’ve given.
Where is the sign of the dragon that appears with the woman?
There are several things that will take place exactly in the middle of Daniel’s seventieth week. In my understanding, these include:
The abomination of desolation will be set up in the temple.
The two witnesses will be killed (and raised, and caught up to God).
Satan will be evicted from the 3rd Heaven permanently by Michael, the archangel.
Persecuted saints in Revelation 5 will be given their white garments and enter into rest. (I base this on the alignment between this chapter and the Olivet discourse.)
A worldwide persecution of Christians and Jews by the anti-Christ will begin.
I take issue with being tole the use of the verb to be (is, am, etc.) can never be used to state that one thing is like something else, or can be used as a type or example. Is God a fire, and was Jesus a loaf of bread?
He was speaking of His body in the present tense, but we are being told that the very “to be” is never to be meant as being like.
Nice set of (implied) bullet points there. Spot on.
Or should I say these — the other I’m not sure but overall, pretty good.
1) The abomination of desolation will be set up in the temple.
2) The two witnesses will be killed (and raised, and caught up to God). (yes, 3.5 days after they are killed they are raised alive and caught up in plain view of the whole world)
3) Satan will be evicted from the 3rd Heaven permanently by Michael, the archangel. (and Satan’s army by Michael’s army)
4) A worldwide persecution of Christians and Jews by the anti-Christ will begin. (yes, especially so - appears this is when the False Prophet begins his reign of terror with the idol and the Mark of the Beast).
In Malachi 4:2 the Messiah is called “the Sun of Righteousness”. So, is he a sun/star or is the star used for an example of His greatness?
So you are saying we should ignore the clear words of Scripture? Or have it mean whatever we want it to mean?
Didn't think you would answer the question. No Catholic so far has been willing to answer.
Then, there’s John 10:9a.
Pella, I’m guessing.
But it wasn't his body...THAT couldn't be more clear...
I love Lewis’s books
But Jesus said - "This is My Body" Are you saying Christ cannot turn bread into His Body?
I agree generally, not specifically:
We see through a glass darkly, but then face to face.
