Bishop Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos, Homosexuality, if it is not a choice and not a disease, it is a gift given by God.
Our prejudices can not perceive the gift of God, just as it happened to the blacks, who were not seen as people because of prejudice.
Bishop Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos on homosexuality
Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos, the Bishop of Caicó, Brazil.
Bishop Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos, just the other day gave a homily about homosexuality. He begins it by lamenting the high suicide rate among homosexuals and proceeds to tell the sad story of a homosexual who blames himself for his mothers death. This anonymous homosexual revealed to his parents his sinful proclivity and shortly thereafter his mother was diagnosed with cancer from which she died. Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos makes the allusion that she had been brainwashed by society to reject homosexuality and if she had accepted her sons homosexuality that she would still be alive. He then goes on to say, the gospel demands love no matter the persons behavior and the door is always open, God never close the door to anyone. He continues stating that we need to take a leap in Gospel wisdom to overcome ... prejudices against our homosexual brothers. And now we get to the heart of of homily:
From the perspective of faith when you look at homosexuality, you cant say its a choice. Choice is one thing that you freely choose and no one chooses orientation. One day the person finds out with this or that orientation. Choice will be the way you will live your orientation. Whether in a dignified, ethical, or in a promiscuous way. But promiscuity can be lived in any of the orientations one has. So since it is not choice, since it is not an option, since the World Health Organization, since the 90s no longer considers it as an illness, from the perspective of faith, we have only one answer. If it is not a choice, if it is not an illness, from the perspective of faith, it can only be a gift. It is given by God. This is a gift: it is given by God. Theres no other way! If it is not a choice, if it is not a disease, it is a gift, it is given by God.
Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos ends his homily with the example of Francis quoting him If a person is homosexual and seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge? And follows that up with the command Francis gave, Dont marginalize them but integrate them into [the Church] and how mercy is the most important thing in the church
the catechism teaches this. Lastly, he retells the story of Francis private audience with
Neria Diego Lejárraga (a female who believes she is a man) and her fiance.
In conclusion, Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos misrepresents the teachings of the Church through its catechism and Bible concerning one of the four
Sins which cry out to Heaven for vengeance. Its enough to make us at
Call Me Jorge... wonder if he is of the homosexual inclination himself. Anyway you slice it, Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos is just preaching what his boss, Francis, believes and it isnt Catholic!

So true. So many of them have never really done any work but they have all the answers. I am sure many couldn’t hold down a real job.
I wonder how many years this man has been a perv.
The church should give the guy the boot. Make examples of these evil people.

Antomio Santos, the author, mentions the catechism in his information. The following lines are from the catechism process of the Catholic Church:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.” They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine effective and sexual complementary. Under no circumstances can they be approved.
2360 Sexuality is ordered to the conjugal love of man and woman. In marriage the physical intimacy of the spouses becomes a sign and pledge of spiritual communion. Marriage bonds between baptized persons are sanctified by the sacrament.

Such a “gift” universally dispensed would lead to mass extinction.

So I take it that the bishop is a poof.

How does a person get to be a bishop without having read the Bible?

This is about as envisioned in the book 1984 (G. Orwell) and as surreal as in the movie THX1138 (G. Lucas).

I wonder if the bishop would feel the same if you replaced "homosexuality" with "pederasty", or "lechery", or "gluttony", "insobriety" ... I grow weary of watered down religion from derelict church leadership. I long for a good old fashioned smiting where they are concerned.

Good. I'm SO glad that the good Bishop refers to the WHO instead of the Bible.
I'm wondering what other sins are OK.
Adultery? Drunkenness? Lying? Murder? Idolatry? Blasphemy?
I'm going to check my WHO manual to see if I'm good.
Turns out that I'm alright.
Oh, and you are OK, too.- St. Thomas Harris.
The Bible says differently, but what does a trifle like the Bible have to do with anything this dirtball is saying?
I KNOW that there will be a great "falling away" at the End Times.
I never thought that the Catholic Church would be leading the way.
I've definitely "fallen away" from the church of my birth and upbringing.
I won't set foot in another Catholic church again.

For this man it perhaps is a gift of his god. Of course the scriptures indicate that his god is satan.

Sexual perversion is now a spiritual gift?
What other sins can we legitimize?

The bishop’s logic is flawed. He forgets that there is another power, also supernatural in nature but less powerful than God, and that this power is also capable of giving “gifts” to man as well. The question is: When you hope or pray for the success of something that is inherently evil, who are you really praying to?

I've been so curious as to what happened to Benedict XVI.
He was forced into "retirement", but why doesn't he ever SAY something?
He's also a scholar and prolific writer.
But again, silence.
Something is rotten here.
