Is the Pope Catholic?
No, really. Is he?
No.
It used to be a rhetorical question, but not anymore.
[ Is the Pope Catholic?
No, really. Is he? ]
The Old Rhetorical “Is the Pope Catholic?” is now “Is the Pope a Jesuit Interloper?”
Many former Catholics don't think so. In my town, there are half a dozen breakaway Catholic Churches, honoring the old pre-Vatican 2 rites. They are full every Sunday with young families as well as older people.
I had a full Catholic education from grade school through college and left the church altogether when they dumped Latin. The Latin mass had a majesty, a universality that was very powerful. People all over the world were saying those same words and it bound us together. Humanistic" let's- all-hold-hands religion seems silly to me. And so does the current Pope.
It is not pleasing to Our Father to speak against our Pope.
