Many former Catholics don't think so. In my town, there are half a dozen breakaway Catholic Churches, honoring the old pre-Vatican 2 rites. They are full every Sunday with young families as well as older people.
I had a full Catholic education from grade school through college and left the church altogether when they dumped Latin. The Latin mass had a majesty, a universality that was very powerful. People all over the world were saying those same words and it bound us together. Humanistic" let's- all-hold-hands religion seems silly to me. And so does the current Pope.
Where are you?
1. Apostles didn't require it
2. Scripture doesn't record it
3. Cultures around the world don't speak Latin
4. It comes down to personal preference and what people grew up doing.
Better to be bound together by Christ - The Word of God.
Can you please advise how to find a breakaway Catholic Church? Also how do you know the Eucharist and Sacraments are valid if it is breakaway?
Seattle? I haven’t kept up, but through at least the early 90’s your run of Bishops was horrendous.
I’m not a Catholic but I’d be very interested in attending a Latin mass.
That said I can understand how some Catholics would not be interested in anything other than a Latin mass.

Did Jesus perform a ‘Latin’ mass?
