Vladimir Putin claims it’s his “duty” to stop gay people from getting married.
In an interview with Oliver Stone airing on Showtime this week, the Russian president explained that, as head of state, he was obligated “to uphold traditional values and family values.”
His reasoning? “Because same-sex marriages will not produce any children. God has decided, and we have to care about birth rates in our country. We have to reinforce families.”
“But,” he added, “that doesn’t mean that there should be any persecutions against anyone.”
Repression of Russia’s LGBT community is well-documented, but Putin has continually denied queer people face persecution. Talking with Stone, he claimed Russia is “liberal-minded to a great extent,” and insisted gay Russians are under no particular threat.

The lack of really accurate abortion reporting is a concern, both in Russia and the USA. IIRC,in the US California and New York -— the highest aborters on this country — don’t even report to the CDC.
The graph of Russian abortions would look like the Himalaya mountains. But they’ve made the descent from Mt. Everest. It’s still way up there, far from sea level, but the highest peaks are behind them.
The irony is that Putin is more “Christian” than the Pope or any of the fake “protestant” church bureaucrats in the rest of the world!

A gangster’s wife, who has bought her driving license and doesn’t know how to drive, hits a 6 year old boy with her car. Police shows up and after seeing who the people involved are declares the boy having been drunk and the cause of the accident.
Now it is nice to be the gangster or the gangster’s wife in this environment, but not the grandfather of this boy.

Most generalizations do somebody wrong.
However as I said, I think it’s an injustice for gay couples to adopt, not because I suspect them all of disgusting abuse , but simply because they cannot provide for their children a wholesome, honorable male/female model. Normally kids need a mother and a father, married to each other.
Rather than a couple, I think a celibate gay could be much more acceptable, because he,/she could model honorable celibacy. (The definition for “honorable,” celibacy, whether for heterosexuals or homosexuals, requires chaste singleness.)
