German Bishop Wants Married Priests and Female Deacons
Bode has the money to pay his personnel. Last year his diocese had a budget of 161,5 Million Euro, mostly coming from compulsory church tax. This year the diocese had for the first time in more than 100 years no priestly ordination.
Which way would FReeper Catholics go if it were a choice between heterosexual married priests and homosexual priests?
How does it tell "of the demise of our church". The Catholic Church already has married priests (Eastern Rite and Anglican Rite both in communion with Rome, and probably other small Oriental rites I am not aware of). The first Pope was married, and IIRC, his wife also martyred in Rome.
Males have nothing on females except body strength....
...
This issue is not related to any notions of superiority. Men have certain characteristics and appropriate roles, and women have certain characteristicsand appropriate roles. They are not interchangeable.
I am a Catholic and a woman who knows that my place in life and my dignity are not based on prideful human concepts of hierarchy. So I have never entertained the thought that a priest -or my husband, for that matter - is “better” than I am because he has authority over me.
The Catholic Church respects women and exalts them in their roles. Comparing that to the mysogyny of the mohammedans, as leftists like to do, makes no sense.
Religion Forum threads labeled Caucus
However, if the poster of the caucus invites you, I will not boot you from the thread.
The caucus article and posts must not compare beliefs or speak in behalf of a belief outside the caucus.
There is little to no tolerance for non-members of a caucus coming onto the caucus thread to challenge whether or not it should be a caucus. Gross disruption usually follows.
If you question whether the article is appropriate for a caucus designation, send me a Freepmail. I'll get to it as soon as I can.
If this is the case, then you should be specific what sub-group of Catholics your group wishes define itself as.
There are many Catholics recognized generally. Orthodox Carholics for example.
