Melania says she'll pray every day for hospitalized children following Papal meeting as she reveals she will be the first Catholic to live in the White House since the Kennedys

Well, then, that will be her second miracle.
I wasn’t singling Maples out. Very well: Donald was a bimbo, too. That makes it TWICE as probable that the Donald-Marla marriage had some invalidating problem.
...”So a Protestant, a Catholic and two Jews walk into the White House...”
...and there they met Father George Rutler.....
Winner!
First, do no harm unless they start it.

:)
Okay, I stand corrected.
Okay, I stand corrected.
+1
As long as neither is a crazed practitioner of Islam, I don’t care WHAT religion they practice. I voted and donated to this president, because of who he is and what the policies he espoused whilst running. And as long as he does his best, as president, to implement those policies....

Amen, FRiend! This Catholic could not agree with you more. I voted for him because I believe he will do what he said he will do. It may take him longer than he bargained for because of all of the push-back, but I trust him. I hope he goes to church, but that is his business.
I really do not care what religion Melania is or about anything she has to say. I have no feelings about her one way or the other. (But I must confess that, as a woman, I enjoy seeing her fashion choices. :) This thread got my attention because I am a Catholic and am curious as to how our doctrines play out in this situation. Does not change in any way my assessment of DJT and his abilities.
Donald is Presbyterian, I was wrong
...simply have a SAVED CAUCUS

That would be nice, but it is impossible because of a small handful of posters who see certain words, such as “Catholic” or “pope” in a title and come in like flying monkeys to dump a load of hate. ~~sigh~~
May God bless and keep you.
I was basing my comment on the fact that I thought I had once heard Trump say that he is Episcopalian, and I thought I had heard/seen that they go to church together. As I said upthread, I don’t care what religion either is, as long as DJT gets the job done.
Okay, I stand corrected.
:)
That’s a Catholic perspective.
As long as neither were married at the time to anyone else, their marriage is valid.
I believe DT and Melania go to an Episcopalian church. DT’s father Fred was apparently an outspoken Christian, and felt an affinity with New York’s working class Jews, who loved him in return.
An Episcopal church is a nice mid-point between Catholic and Presbyterian.
I was a lapsed Catholic and my wife was a Baptist so we settled on Methodist after we married.
Melania is a Catholic. Thus, she is bound (voluntarily) by the Church’s marriage laws.
She could not validly marry in a non-Catholic ceremony.
She could not validly marry a man whose previous marriages have not been declared null by a Catholic tribunal.
‘Actions speak louder than words.’
I’m sure she considers herself validly married even if you don’t.
I have lost all respect for things “in the eyes of the Church” since the Marxist ImPopester was installed.
