As a member of the Atlanta Archdiocese, I know that ABp Gregory has more important things to worry about like man made climate change and other cool hip things. Would not surprise me to see things going this way. Just read his official letter after the Gay marriage ruling. He gave a milquetoast sentence or two on the churchs teachings and then proceeded with the rest of the letter to admonish Catholics upset by the ruling to don’t sweat it and to be nice.
As a 30 year member of Sacred Heart church in Atlanta I abide by the rules.
But truthfully Jesus said “ do this in remembrance of me”. He did not say “ do this in remembrance of the Catholic Church rules”. He did not say “ do this in rememberance of me unless you are divorced and remarried”. Personally I doubt whether Jesus Christ wanted communion to be denied to any believer.
